1_0If you’re not familiar with United Way of Denton County, you should be—cause they rock.

On Saturday, January 16th, United Way of Denton County held it’s fourth annual TRIBUTE event, which, “celebrates the successes and achievements of United Way of Denton County’s supporters.”

And all I can say is, it was a blast!

They had live music from local band Razzmatazz (who killed it with the country tunes), handed out awards to long-time community leaders and volunteers, and brought together over 400 community members to celebrate United Way of Denton County.

Oh wait, I forgot, there was also a super-cool little Dancing with Our Stars event that I may or may not have won…

Seriously, it is one of the most entertaining events around Denton, and I am thrilled I had the opportunity to meet so many incredible community leaders. Plus, United Way is an organization that really makes an impact, so I was honored to get to be a small part for this one evening.

United Way is all About Helping People

United Way is all about making people’s lives better across the board, which really sets them apart. They’re not just focused on one issue—they work to get the right people in touch with each other, “aligning donors, volunteers, businesses, governments, non-profits, community groups and everyone else in our community.”

So that’s pretty cool, and I’m so grateful to be a part of this amazing organization, especially cause they let me get my dance on.

Y’all, it was so much fun! Me and my amazing-incredible partner, Jackie Davis, AKA cowboy of the year, dressed up as Jessie and Woody from Toy Story 2 and, not to brag, but we kinda brought the house down.

We danced to 3 different songs, but it was the last song, Boot Scootin’ Boogie (which, if you haven’t heard it, what the heck?!) and our Texas 2 Step that really brought the house down.

So that was awesome, and now I have a giant disco ball trophy on my desk, but even cooler than that? The silent auction raised over $8,000!

Sounds like a lot right? Well it’s nothing compared to the $2.3 MILLION dollars United Way has raised for their annual campaign!

It was just really cool to be a part of something that helped raise money for the Denton community and improve all things Denton. I won, Blue Steele Solutions now has an awesome new trophy, and some deserving people get help.

Win/win/win/win/win, like 20 wins guys.
