Our legendary marketing gal and Dentonite extraordinaire Randi Skinner joins the board of local Daniel Burnham fanatics Denton Parks Foundation.
Daniel Burnham, an American architect and urban planner, “was an early advocate for parks and open space, who understood their importance in fostering a deep sense of community in a democracy.”
The Denton Parks Foundation is an incredible organization dedicated to these same ideals first espoused by Daniel Burnham, to providing quality programming, activities, and facilities for the Denton community. They bridge the gap between what our tax dollars can do and what Dentonites need.
And we think that’s pretty cool.
Denton Parks Foundation and Eureka 2—Doing Awesome Things in Denton
Opening in this month, the Eureka 2 project is what first showed Randi the value the Denton Parks Foundation adds to the Denton community.
Bringing together volunteers and sponsors from across the community, the Denton Parks Foundation raised almost $435,000 for a new park in Denton, dubbed Eureka 2.
It’s not often that you see an entire community come together to support each other and make a difference in the lives of their children, but that’s exactly what happened with the Eureka 2 project. Randi was so impressed that she just had to find out more.
Bada bing, bada boom, she’s on the board and ready to make a difference in the Denton community.
