Having videos on your website is a great way to capture the attention of your visitors. Inserting a video into a WordPress page or post is actually quite simple. But before you begin, upload your video to a video-sharing site like YouTube or Vimeo. Once you’ve done this, open the video on the site you’ve chosen to upload it to (ex. YouTube, Vimeo, etc.). This will make things a bit easier on step #4.
1. Click Add Media below the title bar of your post.
2. Click Insert from URL on the left.
3. Play the video that you want to insert in a different window on your computer. Copy the URL of that page.
4. Return to the WordPress window and delete “http://”. Then paste the URL from the video-sharing site you just copied in step 3.
5. Enter the title of the video the way you want it to appear on your site’s post or page.
6. Click Insert into post on the bottom right. This will insert the video into the post.
7. Click Publish or Update on the right of the screen. If you’re creating a new post, the blue button will show Publish. If you already created a post and are inserting an image later, the button will show Update.
8. Click View Post or View Page to view the post with the newly inserted video.
